How many cake mixes in a sheet cake

I'm making an 11x15 cake in a couple of days and I just read a post where a member said that she uses about 16 cups of batter for this size pan. I know that Wilton suggests 11 cups and that is what I was going on and thought I would do. However, now I'm wondering how many of you use much more batter than Wilton suggests.

How many cake mixes in a sheet cake. i use about 1 1/2. i go ahead and mix 2 mixes, fill the pan and then make few cupcakes with the extra batter. I use 2 full boxes. that way I get a true 2 inch deep sheet cake. The hump I cut off is ziplocked and frozen and used for cake balls later on.

The cake mix boxes say 10 servings so i would normally buy 4 boxes (or maybe even a 5th to make sure I’ve got plenty). But this recipe says to use just one mix box for a 13 x 17 pan.
